Our Moonscape Mugs are each one of a kind. We make them in small batches, and offer them for sale in collection releases throughout the year. The Moonscape Mugs are all painted by hand with 22k gold lustre. I don't use stencils, so each one is absolutely unique! I love capturing the feel of the many phases of the moon, and lately I've been especially inspired by the cratered surface texture you can see as the moon waxes and wanes. It's been fun to try and capture on these mugs.

The larger Moonscape Mugs have all been thrown on the wheel by Sven, and then handled, glazed and painted by me, so they feel like the quintessential expression of our collaborative and artistic partnership in one little package. We know how special they are to the people who own them, and we feel delighted and grateful to get to make these.

Keep an eye out for Seasonal Colorway Collection Releases! We love developing new glaze colors, but we typically only do one or two Moonscape Mug releases with the Seasonal colors. 

 

Though the lustre gets fired  in a third firing to around 1400 degrees, the gold lustre is delicate. The moonscape pieces should never be put in a microwave or dishwasher.
